3. MODEL HISTORY
The SLK 55 AMG was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and went on sale in January 2012.
It is powered by the M152 V8 engine, rated at 422 PS (310 kW; 416 hp) at 6,800 rpm and 540 N⋅m (398 lb⋅ft) at 4,500 rpm, and equipped with AMG cylinder management, start/stop function, sports exhaust system with integrated exhaust flaps, AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, AMG sports suspension with torque vectoring brakes and AMG direct-steer system, 3-stage ESP, and ventilated and perforated brake discs on all wheels with 360 x 36 mm front and 330 x 22 mm rear brake discs.
4. INTERIOR
The interior of the SLK55 is like that of all Mercedes, with superb quality throughout. Using only the finest materials, the interior of the SLK55 AMG offers that level of comfort we've come to expect from this great brand but also that compact, sharp, sporty feeling that lets you know that you're in something a little bit different. Our example is presented with the full black Nappa leather seating with contrast stitching, black carpets with AMG floor mats, AMG Performance leather-bound steering wheel with paddles, silver dial surrounds, leather trimmed door cards and is finished off with the natural light that shines through the glass panoramic roof.
5. EXTERIOR
An AMG car is supposed to be aggressive looking and the SLK55 does not disappoint. Presented in Designo Mocha Black with the Diamond Polished AMG 5 spoke alloy wheels, this example looks the part. Sitting lower than a standard SLK the stance shows on the road, with further touches coming from the rear boot lip spoiler, chrome-finished quad exhaust system, black front bumper grille with the 3-pointed star dominating the nose and is finished off the signature AMG motifs to the rear and side of the car. A stunning and aggressive look, roof up or down.
