2. SPECIFICATION

This incredible V-Spec example has just arrived as one of the 100 UK Middlehurst cars and one owner from new and stock standard. This is 1 of the 100 UK cars that we supplied new from our Nissan dealership (Middlehurst Motorsport).

Middlehurst Motorsport were the only authorised dealer in the UK and supplied every single UK specification R33 and R34 GT-R, endorsed by Nissan Motor Company GB.

The differences between standard 'grey imports' and official UK specification examples are as follows: MPH speedometer cluster, 'E' marked halogen headlamps, 'E' marked glass, UK stereo head unit (Kenwood), Kenwood 6CD Autochanger, Thatcham category 1 alarm/immobiliser, modified engine ECU for EU fuels, engine oil cooler, differential cooler, gearbox cooler and transfer cooler with pumps developed by Nissan Motorsport (Nismo) Europe. They were also fully SVA tested (singly type approved) and had a unique front and rear bumper. The front bumper has engine oil cooler outlet (vent) on the passenger side, along with the inserts on the front bumper with built in indicators and sidelights.

3. MODEL HISTORY

The R33 GT-R went on sale on 6 January 1995 with the base model GT-R and the V·spec model. The V·spec model weighed in 10 kg (22 lb) heavier, and had sportier suspension resulting in lower ground clearance. The V·spec also featured the newer ATTESA E-TS Pro all wheel drive system, which included an active limited-slip differential.

At the same time as the introduction of the R33 GT-R and GT-R V·spec, Nissan introduced the R33 GT-R V·spec N1 model. Changes made to the R33 N1 are similar to those in the R32 N1. The car was made lighter by removing the ABS, air conditioning, sound system, rear wiper, and boot carpet. The R33 GT-R V·spec N1 received the slightly revised R33 N1 engine.

The R33 ended production on 9 November 1998. The last R33 GT-R produced was a V-spec in GV1 finished in Black Pearl colour.[
