2. Model History

The Model X was developed from the full-sized sedan platform of the Tesla Model S. The Model X has an EPA size class as an SUV, and shares ~30% of its content with the Model S, half of the originally planned ~60%, and weighs about 10 percent more. Both the Model X and Model S are being produced at the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California. The prototype was unveiled at Tesla's design studios in Hawthorne, California on February 9, 2012. First deliveries of the Model X began in September 2015.

The P100D has a 100 kWh battery, accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 2.9 seconds (0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.1 seconds) and 289 mi (465 km) of range.

3. Interior

The Model X has the latest 17.0in version, so you’re confronted with a portrait-orientated touchscreen that mimics a tablet PC. The interior is based upon that of the Model S but with more space in its SUV body. Much like the whole premise of Tesla the interior is unique and futuristic with minimalist detailing throughout. Opted from factory with the 6 seat configuration split into 3 rows of 2 making accessibility seamless from back to front. With its carbon interior trim, ivory seating throughout and extended front windscreen and side windows the Tesla Model X is a superb space to be in.

4. Exterior

Finished in the Midnight Silver Metallic, the Model X is built on the same platform as the Model S, so it is predominantly made from extruded aluminium reinforced with boron steel. Fitted with the 22" alloy wheels, active rear spoiler and falcon wing doors the Model X has a signature look to match that of its interior and message that Tesla itself portrays across the globe.
