2. Model History

Mercedes-Benz’s first-ever C-Class Cabriolet was revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the C-Class Coupé, the four-seat soft-top keeps the same basic dimensions as the coupé but is marginally taller. Its fabric roof can be opened or closed in 20 seconds at up to 50 km/h (31 mph). When open, the roof is stored in the boot.

The interior of the C-Class Cabriolet is almost identical to that of the coupé but includes heat-reflecting leather and a switch on the centre console to open and close the roof. The sports seats also include the Mercedes’ Airscarf heating system, while the Aircap system stops draughts inside the cabin.

The C63 S Cabriolet shares the same setup as its coupe & saloon siblings. With a 0-60 of just 4 seconds powered by the 4.0 V8 engine that produces 503bhp sent directly to the rear wheels and is controlled through the 7-speed automatic transmission.

This example is offered in the superb obsidian black metallic paint finish, which perfectly demonstrates the aggressive Mercedes Benz lines, the distinctive AMG curves and looks staggeringly beautiful with the roof up or down.
