The 5 Series saloon was unveiled on 12 October 2016 before making its public debut in January 2017 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. BMW created The Escape, a short action film featuring a 540i M Sport, to promote the G30 5 Series. The Escape was released online on 23 October 2016.
BMW offered various engines with the G30 5 Series ranging from a 2.0 litre pretor or diesel unit to the M5's 4.4 litre V8 unit. The 540i is the only 3.0 litre petrol variant available in the G30 5 Series and sits just under the M divisions V8 powered cars in the family tree. A superb engine that produces 335bhp and can accelerate from 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds is twinned with the 8-speed automatic gearbox and BMW's xDrive 4-wheel drive system giving maximum road stability and comfort.
Our car is fitted with a sublime spec level as well as being maintained by BMW main dealer service agents since first being registered in 2017 with its most recent service carried out in March 2020.
